“Oh no, not another advertisement trying to sell me some more football gear.” Calm down people, it is merely a reminder that we are already finished with a quarter of the NFL season! Now that a few games have been played, the question is, where does your favorite team rank?

This is the time of year to start talking about Superbowl plans (Bears fans) or to start scouting the book toting college lads (49ers fans) for next year’s draft. Or, you may be a little concerned with the production of your team (Cowboys? Packers?) and the direction they are headed. My guess right now is that most fans are somewhere between a little bit worried and a little bit excited and that is OK.

The rest of the season has so much more to offer…We will have the return of Big Ben, the resurgent LaDainian Tomlinson, Favre to Moss, the Eagles QB situation, and some great match-ups to watch. Please remember that we have about three quarters of the season remaining and the only thing guaranteed to happen is that some fans will cheer and some will cry.

Top teams in the NFL look like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and the NY Jets. The NFC is wide open, so Bears fans can dream about another Super Bowl birth. Great year for them to do it too, since this is the 25th anniversary of the last Super Bowl win in Chicago..

who’s on top today will not be by the end of the year, those Cowboys sure have a tone of talent got to think they will turn things around

PIT winning without Big ben is pretty scary

JDavis, Have you forgotten the resurgence of a scary looking Giants defense? Unfortunately, the offense is also scary looking at times, but I think the NFC East is certainly up for grabs this year. Well, let’s be honest maybe both conferences based on what we’ve seen so far.

College lads? Are we talking football or tennis?

Please do not be fooled by Da Bears. They are actually 3-2 now that the NFL is changing the “non-drop” reception rule.. and really the Giant mashing should count as two losses. If the Bears even get to the playoffs I will fly out there and dress up like Chris Farley in his Bears Saturday Night Live costume (grass skirt included) and eat 4 slabs of Chicago IL Baby Back Ribs.

    a couple responses…

to emoore-way to live in the past…ahhh the good ol days of yore

to CKMIII-Cowboys really do not have too much talent in the coaching department, find a way to win and then tell me about all of their talent

to Marc-yes, the Giants have looked good of late but the running game is a little unsettled going into the cold weather, but we will see???

to LEW!-I can’t wait to see your grass skirt smothered in Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce!!

JDavis: JJ the owner needs to tell JJ the President to fire JJ the GM, then bring in a real coach like Jim Harbaough

  8. avatar CKMIII Says:

Biggest game of the year so far and it’s between two 1 & 3 teams

  9. avatar Lew Gumbiner Says:

looks like the Seahawks are doing the smothering.. and the covering!

  10. avatar BRice Says:

Bears are due for a let down, Good bye Wade, it’s been a “fun” ride

  11. avatar jdavis Says:

WOW! The Bears should not lose at home to a mediocre team. Giants played a close game and Cowboys are taking a little longer to turn all that talent into a winning formula.

I think it is time for me to talk about MLB Playoffs for a while!

  12. avatar CKMIII Says:

The rest of the league is very relieved that the Cowboys are virtually out of it, however I would hate to have to play DAL late in the year when your or my team needs a win and DAL can hang it all out.

  13. avatar Lew Gumbiner Says:

A win is a win is a win. But I am worried that Dallas may take it out on my Gints next Monday. The Yaaaaaaankeeeeeeeeeeeess loooooooooooos, the Yankeeeeeeeeeees loooose! What a texas sized butt whipping they are getting. Should be 3-0 facing elimination.

  14. avatar Lew Gumbiner Says:

Da Bears. Playoffs? Playoffs!!! Playoffs??? Playoffs???

    BLUE CRUSH

How many Cowgirls can the Giants lay waste to in one game? It does not get much better than this. And it’s all clean hard blocks and tackles.

I thank the Bears for showing the Giants how good they can be.

  16. avatar jdavis Says:

Yes Lew, I will give all of the credit to the Bears for starting what looks like the best team in the NFC and their run to the SuperBowl! The Bears victory over the Cowboys in Dallas does not look so impressive any longer. Enjoy it while you can because spring training is right around the corner for your beloved Mets.

  17. avatar Lew Gumbiner Says:

Life is good (at least my Fan life). Yankees and Phillies get crushed. G-Men are playing great and the Mets finally hire a GM with half a brain. NY Rangers off to a decent start and the Knicks.. oh well 3 out of 4 aint bad.

And Penn State is actually beating someone (although it is far from over and Michigan is far from good).
